It’s now official, for the 6th time in 7 years of entering, Laura and I have won the award for Best Wedding Album for 2008! We first entered in 2002 and last year our 2nd place finish was our only non win. When looking through our 2007 weddings to choose one for submission, we had a difficult time deciding. All were worthy. Really! We finally settled on Alicia Engel & Jim Rigdon who were married on 7/7/07 on Bonnett Island, which sits in the middle of Barnaget Bay between Manahawkin and Long Beach Island, NJ.

While visiting with friends a few months ago, prior to their son’s wedding (which Laura & I were going to be photographing) we met the father of the groom’s mother who lives in separate quarters in their spacious home. “Joe”, is how he was introduced. Other than knowing he was Mary (Account exec. for Modern Bride) Ruegg’s father, that was about it, until later…
